Green Day is an American rock band formed in 1987 consisting of three key members: Billie Joe Armstrong (guitar and lead vocals), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tré Cool (drums). Its popularity have rapidly increased after 2004 with it's rock opera American Idiot selling about 5 million copies just in the U.S.A.
